Green Rock Retreat is a natural 50-acre Semi-Silent Sanctuary perched on the rim of the Crooked River Gorge, 30 miles North of Bend, OR. The alcohol-free property is off-grid and runs entirely on solar power. Our wonderful in house Chef caters to your retreat all weekend serving organic nutritious meals made with love. We observe noble silence every morning until after breakfast because we believe that time in silence combined with nature can heal and nourish the nervous system.
You’re invited to slow down in the high desert, bask in its beauty, and notice the intricate, diverse life forces blooming against all odds. MEEt Nicole-Amanda & Swiss
Nicole-Amanda has spent the last 10 years crafting once-in-a-lifetime experiences that foster connection. Drawing on her work as a sex coach, acro yoga teacher, event planner, and food service manager, she has built an array of skills, all centered around curating unique intimate experiences. With a keen eye for design, she helps facilitators elevate intentional gatherings that beckon divine deities to stay for a while.
Swiss has worked as a rock-climbing guide, biogeochemistry startup founder, and small business investor. He built mission-first organizations specializing in water management and environmental education. Swiss is forwarding Green Rock as a micro-wildlife project, an off-grid experiment, and a place for fascination with the Earth-body-soul.
The Story
Their relationship with Green Rock blossomed after Tory invited them for a private stay. Their first impression of the land left them in silent awe. They felt cradled in the ancient arms of the Earth. That secluded section of the canyon, with its towering cliffs, seemed to hold the sky and earth together in a timeless, otherworldly vibration.
When it came time for Nicole-Amanda and Swiss to get married, Green Rock was the obvious choice. On the morning of their wedding, in Moon Tent, they discovered Nicole-Amanda was pregnant with their first child. (due February 5th!) During their vows, an eagle with a serpent in its talons flew overhead. Representing the triumph of love over darkness in many cultures. They felt the land blessing them that day.
Later that year, Tory approached them to become the next stewards of Green Rock. Nicole-Amanda and Swiss were honored and in disbelief, but it felt natural. To become the caretakers of a place that had given them so many sacred moments. Thanks to the help of the community, they are excited to continue the mission Tory began three years ago.
Now, they are preparing for the next evolution of Green Rock, ready to pour their energy into serving guests. They are developing new offerings for local families and youth. Furthermore, they are adding a mix of celebration, levity, and community. This winter they will be spending time building facilitator-requested improvements. They welcome all types of ceremonies, gatherings, and practices that hold reverence for nature. It is important to Nicole-Amanda and Swiss to preserve the land’s silent healing nature and a local family business.
To this couple, Green Rock is more than a getaway—it’s an alchemy of place and purpose, a sacred space where the boundaries between self and nature dissolve, allowing deep reconnection with a more primitive side of our soul.
